How do you capture two weeks in Italy? Do you take the time to journal, write, and reflect? I have off today, and my main goal is to prepare for an event at my house on Sunday. Clean, think about food, decorations, and de-clutter. Yet, I want to be disciplined to write a little each day, or every other day, about our trip to Italy. It’s a goal of ours to savor the memories and treat the experience as a sacred and privileged moment in time. Two weeks is a long vacation; however, it is a moment in everything we are involved in and show up for in our lifetime.
I’m using my resources on Google. In my slides, I write, then transfer to a Google Site. Ultimately, I will have an electronic book and a PDF from my slides to turn into a book to hold in our hands. I’m aware that this work may go unnoticed or found in the attic by grandchildren one day. We still write and reflect because it is in the living of the present and capturing our joys and, yes, struggles that we connect with others. Connect with ourselves and discover hidden treasures that we never knew existed in us.
Travel changes you.
So, here is the start of my book. When it is all finished. All the days remembered and captured, I will send a post. I’m setting a timeline of 6 months or so. No rush.
