It’s July 4! Time to celebrate! The Lambs came for breakfast, and then we walked to the parade. Early that morning, Parish and I rode our bikes to check on our chairs and went to Burney’s to get some pastries. We purchased chocolate milk for Spender, Jr. -his favorite. The Haven outdid themselves with a fan, mist, and bubbles for the children. The kids loved the parade and all the goodies that folks threw from the parade, like t-shirts, rubber duckies, candy, and flags. We enjoyed gelato and drinks from The Haven. After the parade, we went back to the house and ate hamburgers and hotdogs. The kids were cute, sitting in their cozy spots in the house, working on crafts and admiring nature. We saw some lizards. :0 ) The Lambs went walking around Southport while we cleaned and rested a bit before riding bikes again. We had dinner together and then watched the fireworks from Southport.
Vivian sent me a picture of Autumn sitting on the bench at our house. I’m so glad they enjoyed the swing and watered our flowers.

Why the word “grace?” It is at this point of ANY vacation that you recognize that family adapts, loves, and offers grace. I thought about all the years we’ve been on vacation, and the different seasons we’ve gone through as a family and individually. Grace keeps us going.
