A Christian marriage built on a covenant relationship can be a powerful union for God’s Kingdom work. After the post “Breath of Heaven”, I thought of Mary and Joseph, together, as a couple. They loved God and withstood the world because together they were strong. Not only do you individually decide to receive Christ in you, but when you are married God is asking you as a couple, “Will you serve Me?” Imagine, for the sake of visualization, you and your spouse holding Jesus in your arms together. What will you do with the love of Jesus? God shares, “A cord of three strands is not easily broken.” God, you, and your spouse are intertwined or braided together. This is an act of worship and, again, the work of a faithful warrior. It takes work to put Jesus first and your spouse second. Above all else, putting your marriage first and serving Jesus in all you do.
My husband shared that the three strands together can carry more than a strand individually. Work with your spouse to love God will all your heart, soul, and mind.
