Oh my goodness! The Eiffel Tower! It was a great idea to have our snack just before we entered the ticketed area. It was fun to relax after a tour of the opera house and gaze at the tower from our seats. We sent the menu to our picky eaters at home, who love nuggets. They laughed. They kept texting that our food did not look appetizing. We ate at Bistrot de la Tour Eiffel.

You can get tickets 60 days in advance, so mark your calendar. Make sure you get your tickets from the official website hyperlinked above, and go to the Summit! It is worth it! You can also dine there and have a glass of champagne at the top. Tickets sell fast, so mark your calendar and don’t hesitate. We went just before sunset and watched the sun set over the city. Once we went down from the Summit and walked around a little, all of a sudden the lights came on! We were able to FaceTime my mom, grandchildren, daughters, and a friend. It was fun to share the experience. This reminds me to make sure you work with your phone carrier to get an international plan.
Check sunset times for Paris during the week you are going (Google Search), and select your ticket time accordingly. We visited the Eiffel Tower from 8:00 to 10:30! Take your time, try to find all the buildings you’ve visited or hope to visit. Take some Euros (coins) for the telescope. What you can see as you do a 360 around the tower is amazing. The elevator that takes you up to the Summit allows you to see the inner workings of the tower, too. Enjoy and see the details. Once you are at the Summit, you can walk another set of stairs to the tippy-top!
Elevator ride down:
They have benches at ground level to admire the tower’s lights. We sat and enjoyed the lights’ twinkling and gasped with delight when they came on. And, just to the right, was my one star and the beautiful moon. Yes! We saw mice, too. My friend told me about the mice she saw at the tower, inspiring her to write a children’s book. Take a look. Lastly, they have great bathrooms; you do not need to pay!
We started walking home from our experience, taking the Promenade Des Berges de la Seine, and found ourselves on the walkway right next to the water. It was getting late, and there were some runners on the path, but not many people, and it was rather dark. To our delight, we found a restaurant called Riviera Fuga housed in a boat near the Alexander III bridge!

The atmosphere was welcoming and upbeat. We had dinner and walked up to the street on Parish’s favorite bridge to call an Uber to go home. By the time we got home, we had walked 7 miles that day!
