This Day

To my children, grandchildren, and all the great grandchildren beyond this day,

I woke up singing “This Day” by Point of Grace. I love when that happens! To wake up singing is a blessing. Yesterday, I scanned Facebook memories and enjoyed looking at the pictures of joy AND knowing some of the stories behind the event you don’t post! 🙂 My daughter and I laughed yesterday about social media and our postings don’t always tell the whole story. That’s the best part.

It’s the in between the lines that create such a glorious story of a life worth living. Count it ALL joy!

If I have a song on my heart, I will stand in my bathroom and play the song on my echo show and record on my Iphone. Nothing fancy. I just sing and what you get is what you get. I’m not trying out for American Idol; I want my children to hear the message more than my voice.

Yesterday was an unusual day in which I was able to slow down a little and capture the time. I love those days. I pray you will slow down enough to capture your days moment by moment and enjoy the memories you are making. All of them. Your best day ever. Your worst day ever. And, all the mundane days in between. They all count and add up to your life story that influences those you love and the world around you.

If you are reading this, take a moment to pull out a scrapbook. To my great, great grandchildren–a scrap book is a like a big three ring binder with pages of Polaroids or printed out pictures. Or, go through your favorite social media and scan pictures from trips, losses, birthdays, and normal everyday occurrences. Celebrate. Then, move on to this day and capture the time in your heart with purpose and intent.

I read a post from a friend who was honoring her husband who passed away and shared on “This day….” Her love and memories connected to my yearning to write to you and remind you of joy in the moments of life.

I love you beautiful ones. This day was made just for you.

Gigi (Some of Gigi’s recent pictures with me singing to you.)

This day is fragile soon it will end
And once it has vanished, it will not come again
So let us love with a love pure and strong
Before this day is gone

This day is fleeting when it slips away
Not all our money can buy back this day
So let us pray that we might be a friend
Before this day is spent

This day we’re given is golden
Let us show love
This day is ours for one moment
Let us sow love

This day is frail it will pass by
So before it’s too late to recapture the time
Let us share love, let us share God
Before this day is gone

Before this day is gone

    1. They have! Thank you for listening. The song is a precious song to me. I sang the song at my brother’s funeral in 1999. He loved each day and God’s world so much.
