Below is a very popular picture of Jesus looking over Jerusalem. The picture represents this verse:
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing…. Luke 13:34
During prayer time, a woman shared that Jesus was not angry at them for their sins, but wept because they wouldn’t trust Him to protect and love them. He desired to place them under his wings of protection and love. They rejected His love perhaps out of fear, ignorance, or apathy.
In this life, do we acknowledge the Great I AM as being more powerful than any circumstance, problem, or situation?
Let Him gather you under His wings of love. Trust Him to provide even in the darkest night.
It is HE who is greater, not the enemy who tries so hard to consume our minds.
I pray today we will fall on our knees and cuddle up under your wings of love and protection. We love you Jesus so much. Just like the prodigal son who was a LONG WAY OFF, the father was looking for his son and from a distance saw him and ran to him. You are that father to us. Even if we are a long way off in our sin or circumstances, Lord, YOU are looking for us and standing there waiting for us to simply come just the way we are. Not perfection, but an earnest crying out of , “I can’t do this alone!”
