Therefore encourage one another and build each other up (I Thessalonians 5:11)

After re-reading the post today, I realized how we strive personally to reframe our negative thoughts by praying and applying God’s Word to our thoughts.  Then it hit me!  There are so many verses in God’s Word about ENCOURAGING EACH OTHER.  I’m not talking about flattery, but sincere encouragement.  How often do we face this world and so many measure us by our output and work. Why can’t we begin to see moments as opportunities to encourage and speak love, joy, blessing into someone’s life?  Starting right now, be mindful of your words and your surroundings and every time you encourage someone say, “Glory!” (That will give you some kind of mental check of your encouraging words.) I guess if you say discouraging comments you might want to say, “Hold up!”

I was affirmed in this thinking when I saw the most precious little teenage boy at Martin’s loading my groceries tonight.  He said, “See that worker over there?  She is so ecnouraging.  When I came to work here she went out of her way to help me, and get to know me. I really like her.  She made a difference in my life.”  I smiled and TOTALLY agreed with him!   Here are some reader responses of great encouragement for us all!

A Reader’s Response: (She’s the biggest CHEERLEADER ever!)

Love, love, love this post Anna!!! Gets right to the heart of the matter! We must saturate ourselves in God’s Truth, His Word so that the lies fade and lose their grip! Daily bread, daily feeding on His precious promises is where I have found healing and wholeness! Praying Psalm 19 this morning! “The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul….The precepts of the LORD are right, giving JOY to the heart…The commands of the LORD are radiant giving light to the eyes…!” Read this entire psalm and be blessed!!

Another Reader: ( I thought this could be a song! I started singing it in my heart!)

You are beautiful. You are treasured. You are enough. You are worthy. You are extraordinary. You are a daughter of The Most High! And you’re my Aunt. =) I pray that, together we would claim these!!! Let these Truths overflow within our souls! May God captivate our hearts and may we never let go; even when the wind blows against us and we want to run, I pray that we’d cling to God with all we have. I love you.

Let’s close out praying and reading together Psalm 19:

The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
    night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
    no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth,
    their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
    It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
    like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens
    and makes its circuit to the other;
    nothing is deprived of its warmth.

The law of the Lord is perfect,
    refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
    making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
    giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
    giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
    enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
    and all of them are righteous.

10 They are more precious than gold,
    than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
    than honey from the honeycomb.
11 By them your servant is warned;
    in keeping them there is great reward.
12 But who can discern their own errors?
    Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
    may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,
    innocent of great transgression.

14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
    be pleasing in your sight,
    Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
