Today in worship it was said: “Don’t look inside yourself or around you at circumstances….LOOK UP! FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS.
A message from a reader when I got home:
Anna, This reminds me of one of my very favorite scriptures: Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not! For I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” This word has helped me through some very scary and difficult days. I KNOW THAT I KNOW that my Father has me securely in His care but sometimes in the midst of a storm I need to be reminded.
I was reminded this morning that no matter what happens in this world around me that God is God alone and He is on His throne. I’ve always known Him as King, but lately that’s been my endearing term for Him in my heart. My King. I think of the Royal Family in England and how untouchable they are and admired, yet we have a King that is ours personally and rules over this world. After this post, if I can find it, I would love to share a video of “That’s My King!” Oh I just got chilly bumps thinking of His royalty and we belong to HIM! God alone!
A group of people had come back from India in which they supported a ministry for women who find shelter and refuge from being sexual slaves. They bought some of their hand-made items for us to purchase to support the ministry. Can you imagine being rescued from being a sexual slave? My God and King will you deliver this unthinkable sin and renew the lives of each woman brought to this home. One of the things they do when they are rescued is take the woman’s sari (head-dress) and wash it clean, and create a new head-dress for her to wear. This symbolism is the newness in Jesus we embrace. We are washed clean. What man has done, God will redeem. The video below is the song we sang today in church. Enjoy!
