As the shepherds and wise men left the manger scene to head back to their work and lives, I pray we all can face our new year with expectant, inconceivable Joy in all things. God sent His Son Jesus at Christmas to give us life abundantly in all seasons of life. I want to feel the same passion and joy at the coffee pot on Wednesday morning, in meetings with conflict, when the impossible happens, when an insult pierces my heart, when illness lingers. I want to decrease, and desire greatly for Jesus to be ever-present. I want to die to Christ and ask Him for His power to be evident, and for me to decrease in worry, self-preservation, anxiety, and fear. Lord forgive us from starting from the center of US and THEN asking you to bless and provide. Lord open our hearts and minds to the Truth of Your Word and help us to make changes that perhaps makes us tremble a little, stretches our faith, and goes against what man would say is right or good for us.
You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail.
Jeremiah 29:11 – 14
11For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.
I pray we seek you with all our hearts so that your light will shine in the darkest of places and bring healing. I pray you will guide us in YOUR Truth and show us Your plans. May we take away “our” center and place YOU there. Amen
