Trim the fins off the fish. We purchased trout from Wegman’s in Fredericksburg, VA. We were in the area visiting friends and a Mary Washington College tour for my Senior!
Trim the tails to give them a V-shape (cosmetic purposes).
Make a series of 3 or 4 deep parallel slashes to the bone in each side of each fish.
Arrange the fish in a baking dish, or we used a cutting board,and stuff with:
ON THE GRILL:
When you are ready to cook, put the fish basket (sprayed with oil) with the fish inside on the grill. Turn the basket to cook the other side after 6 to 10 minutes and grill the fish for 6 to 10 minutes more.
We did not have a basket and cooked directly on the grill! Serve with corn and caper butter! The caper butter was so good I began to spoon it in to my mouth like yogurt!
The yummy smell will bring your family outside to see what delicacy you are grilling!
