Right at this very moment, I’m hiding in the bushes of my front yard watching the sun come up. I’m worshiping. I hear His song through the birds gathering and being– “His Eye is on the Sparrow”. I know He is pursuing me with His unfailing love and goodness. A train whistle blows. Travelers. Progress. Moving forward. The sun on my feet, wet from the dew,
and far in the distance men are busy at work building a home. My friend is walking with her lab. We exchange a friendly hello.
My secret garden where I praise, repent, ask, and proclaim “Yes!”
Yes to “All of God’s promises,” the Bible says, “have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding ‘Yes!'”
2 Cor. 1:20 (Shirer, 2015, p. 22)
I believe most of us diligently pray for a confident, focused, and restful mind. This post is about a “Yes!”–proclaiming that:
Jesus has already done everything in order for you to experience His tapestry of love and to know him as Lord and Savior.
I want you to be woven in a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery. Colossians 2: 2-4 The Message
It is here, I realize how deeply I am loved, and there is truly nothing I can do to add to this amazing, perfect love. It’s perfect. He has already captivated me, and I need only to partake. It’s in me. He is in me.
Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it!
Colossians 2: 9
This living and tapestry is not something you figure out or achieve! Paul, in Colossians, reminds us that we are ready to live confident of His love and at rest. Any act or achievement we strive for is secondary, a tool perhaps, for us to experience the world He created.
We can live our lives in this confidence.
At rest.
He asks us to live it and let your living spill over into thanksgiving. When we live in this mystery, God can take you past your fears to more abundant living. The fullness and thanksgiving creates space to connect with others in a deeper relationship. The human relationship is not perfect, but God’s perfect love rescues you from the sting of hurt and pain and opens your soul to change and forgiveness. Your eyes are open to possibilities versus the fear of failure. Failure is seen as an opportunity not shame. Simplicity of coffee, grass, and the sunrise become daily miracles.
You are stronger than you think. He can take your “mess” and create The Message!
Glory! You are stronger because you finally get it. My enemy is not myself, others, or the things that have happened to me.
Your battle is with the enemy who tries to take what is rightfully yours.
I want you to say that three times. Yell it in a battle cry as you put on the full armor of God (from Ephesians) and stand tall!
Get your eyes off circumstances and people and focus on Jesus. Your focus will change your lens–how you view the world and who you are in it.
When you come to him, the fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything. Colossians 2: 10
It is hard to believe. Perhaps that’s why He reminds us to not put up with anyone pressuring you in details of diet, worship, or holy days.
He stated, That all those things are mere shadows cast before what was to come; the SUBSTANCE IS CHRIST! Verses 16-17
Your breath
Your mind
Your marriage
Your family
Your job
The moment you are in right now
All of it:
The Substance of Christ
Claim it and start living it. You’ve studied long enough.
A fun challenge. I have certain spots in my yard that are obvious to study God’s Word. The chair on the patio. Yesterday, God was calling me away from the usual to experience His fullness. I grabbed a small, wooden chair, coffee, and Bible. Oh how He captivated me and helped me to experience love, confidence, and rest.
This morning, a friend sent me a Bible verse from Colossians. God speaking. I could not wait to talk to Him about it.
Writing in my “electronic journal” is healing for me. I stop to pray over what God has revealed in His writing–I claim nothing within my own strength. To Him be all the glory and praise! After this, I move on to Colossians chapter 3, and we have a throw down (that’s a good thing). I’m overwhelmed with repentance and praise! I just can’t wait to see how God will manifest His Word in my life using this chapter.
My posts are usually “live”–my family may catch me writing, join me, or send a text while I’m writing. They help me and their life is included in my soul work. Victoria and Spencer have been trying so hard to get their newborn to smile. We’ve all joined in. The ooing and cooing over Adelaide has bordered on obnoxious. Bless her. Our efforts, at times, would frighten the poor thing. Yesterday, Louise, her great-grandmother, was holding Adelaide. She was gentle and soft as she spoke to Adelaide. All of us glanced over–and there it was–a sweet, little smile in response to her great-grandmother’s love. That put Victoria on a mission. This morning, her and Spencer discovered pure joy–
Her message to me: “Crying my eyes out!!!”
He’ll use, and He’ll do whatever He wants to say I LOVE YOU!
He gets our attention to prove He is enough.
Worship with me….
Lord, Jesus, Captivate us….
Your face is beautiful
And Your eyes are like the stars
Your gentle hands have healing
There inside the scars
Your loving arms they draw me near
And Your smile it brings me peace
Draw me closer oh my Lord
Draw me closer Lord to Thee
Captivate us Lord Jesus set our eyes on You
Devastate us with your presence falling down
And rushing river draw us nearer
Holy fountain consume us with You
Captivate us Lord Jesus with You
Your voice is powerful
And Your words are radiant bright
In Your breath and shadow
I will come close and abide
You whisper love and life divine
And Your fellowship is free
Draw us closer oh my Lord
Draw me closer Lord to thee
Captivate us Lord Jesus set our eyes on You
Devastate us with Your presence falling down
And rushing river draw us nearer
Holy fountain consume us with You
Captivate us Lord Jesus with You
And let everything be lost in the shadows
Of the light of your face
And let every chain be broken from me
As I’m bound in Your grace
For Your yoke is easy Your burden is light
You’re full of wisdom power and might
And every eye will see You
And captivate us Lord Jesus with You
