Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up
Today at Upward Cheerleading and Football, Greg Sweeney shared a GREAT devotional on the power of……YOU GUESSED IT!……….
ENCOURAGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I laughed and worshipped as he shared that life was meant for us to share together, and when one falls, a friend is there to help them. He asked how could a football team work if only one person showed up? We need each other to play the game. We need each other to play the game of life! I’m sure some very avid sports fans could write a terrific post on all the positions on a football team and relating that to life in general – when do we need a line backer? A wide receiver? A Coach? A defense person? A quarter back?
Okay Spencer – is this yours to do? 🙂 Would love to hear!
The message was so moving that even the kids were hugging each other and saying – “You are my friend!” And, at one point, Valentina was hugging on Abby and dancing with her. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the gift of God’s Word and ENCOURAGEMENT!
As we were leaving these two little boys in the woods were making a fort – team work, having fun together, helping each other out!
P.S. – Sweet Abby (Valentina’s friend) came up to me and said out of nowhere, “You are so pretty.” Considering some of my previous posts, and my concentration on encouragement, I just grabbed her and said, “Thank you! I think you are pretty too!” Sweet little girl! Encouragement comes naturally from the child-like heart. May we learn from sweet Abby. Just say it!
