We enjoyed our anniversary! I was reminded of the Shulamite in Song of Solomon
The Shulamite
2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth—
For your love is better than wine.
3 Because of the fragrance of your good ointments,
Your name is ointment poured forth;
4 Draw me away!
So we drew away for an overnight. I was listening to a sermon on the television while waiting for my husband. The message was on marriage and love. Perfect I thought! It was at the end of the message but so profound. He shared that we should view our mates as God’s child–redeemed, loved, treasured. There is no way your spouse can fulfill all your needs–they will never satisfy your soul like Jesus. Also, when you go to God in prayer over a situation with your spouse remember to view them as a child of God–your sister, your brother in Christ, redeemed, loved, treasured.
If they are not meeting your expectations remember “who they are” and pray for them. It’s not that we can’t sit down and have healthy conversations on expectations and needs, but when there seems to be a moment of frustration remember who you are and who they are–a child of God.
Draw me away!
Take the time to draw away and play, laugh, and have fun away from the daily grind.
The love note is priceless….so blessed to know both of you! Love Teresa

I love my husband’s notes….that was something he did from the get-go when we were dating. I have so many love notes from him in a box. 🙂

While I appreciate Helen Steiner Rice’s poetic words in a greeting card, it’s just not the same. She doesn’t love you like I do! 🙂
