2 Corinthians 3:17

Today in worship we heard a beautiful testimony from a man who struggled with addiction, suicidal tendencies, and childhood trauma.  He found freedom in Christ and was baptized today.  He wept.  He went into the waters and came out rejoicing.  What a privilege to rejoice with him.

We sang the most powerful song….

My sin and my rejection met

When I sang this beautiful worship song, I thought of this man’s chains being lifted and his freedom.  I also thought of those who are literally chained–those in slavery, concentration camps, prisons…..  Testimonies of God’s amazing love moving people to dance and sing despite their circumstances bring us a deeper understanding of the power of God’s love. Through Voice of the Martyrs, I often hear testimonies of those imprisoned for their faith, but they continue to worship Jesus.  Through chains and oppression they worship.

Imagine being in chains or oppressed yet you choose to sing……receive His love…….

Another testimony was from a woman and her husband had recently left her.  She was angry until she realized that the love of God could fill her and remove the disappointment and feelings of rejection.  I was deeply moved in the house of the Lord today.

It seemed things that I was allowing to bind me were released, and I could dance and sing!  I’m FREE!  I’m an imperfect person who is FREE by God’s grace.
