What to do with FEAR

When a new door opens, opposition and adversity will come.  It’s part of the faith walk. Every time.  No exceptions.

…because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me. I Corinthians 16:8

Paul decides to stay and work despite opposition. Do you run from conflict, or see it as opportunity?  A work?

Fear.

Joyce Meyer shared in an interview with Lisa Bevere, that fear keeps us in mediocrity and away from God’s best for us–excellence. If the enemy can trip you with fear then he has won the victory in keeping you away from the goals God has for you. She goes on to share that no one is born fearless.  You face your fears and move forward in the direction that God is calling you despite feelings of fear.  Never stop, quit, or withdraw…..MOVE……TAKE ACTION WITH YOUR FEAR…. You will speak more to those you mentor when you face a fear than acting like you have it all together.

Ignoring, moving away, being nice, and people pleasing are not the cures for fear!  God’s glory can be revealed when you say no to these cover ups, and face your fears.

Lisa Bevere shared several methods of moving forward when fear shows up.  The one that spoke to me the most was speaking God’s Word.

Praying desperate prayers of, “Please God, take this away, or Why me?” does not provide the power you need to face your fear.  Yet, when you speak the very WORDS of God–the words that brought life to this world and creation– then you are praying with power and confidence!

Jesus answered, It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’. Matthew 4:4

Then said Jehovah unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I watch over my word to perform it.  Jeremiah 1:12

We can speak idle, passive, fearful words in our lives, or we can speak God’s Word!  And, when we speak His Words, He keeps watch over it and PERFORMS IT!

God–I can do all things through you–YOU strengthen me!  Jesus, You’ve not given me a spirit of fear, but of a sound mind!  You have promised to NEVER leave me, nor forsake me!

Claiming His Words.  Praying His Words.

The next time you speak idle words of fear, practice praying His Word instead! Don’t give into the enemies lies and whispers in your life.  Claim God’s promises.

I hope you can take time to listen to this broadcast!
