Forerunner
a person or thing that precedes the coming or development of someone or something else.
John the Baptist, named by God, and the forerunner of Jesus, devoted his life to preparing the way of the Lord.
The child will be named John. When God names a child, that child is especially significant in God’s plan. This child will be great before God. In Luke 7:28 Jesus says that no one greater had been born of woman before John. His greatness emerges from his prophetic role and from his function as a forerunner to Jesus.(https://www.biblegateway.com/resources/commentaries/IVP-NT/Luke/Announcing-Forerunner-John)

My father is part of a group called Forerunners at his local church, Ironbridge Baptist Church. The group consists of a group of strong and dedicated Christian men who desire to act as catalysts to those in need of the love of Jesus. My youngest participated with her Papa in making their logo.
Hebrews 6:19-20
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
The men serve to point others to our forerunner–JESUS.
What a joy to see men serving Jesus and caring for the next generation. The t-shirt has become one of my daughter’s treasures, and she wears it often.
