John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and may have it abundantly.
John 10:10 with the Greek word for “life”
“I have come that they may have zoe and may have zoe abundantly.”
Zoe is the Greek word for something truly amazing! We can find a great expression of Zoe from this verse in the Bible:
“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” John 1:4
The Greek word refers to the uncreated, eternal life of God, the divine life uniquely possessed by God.
This Zoe…. LIFE given to us by God to fill us up and make us more creative, more alive, and more focused on His purpose for us.
God desires for us to celebrate and live life in abundance. Celebrate the cup of coffee in the morning, and the cold floor under your feet as you search for your slippers. Celebrate all the possibilities that live within a given moment, and the endless possibilities in your life time. This Zoe causes us to embrace every moment as a time of creative energy and love. God is love.
The joy of knowing this Zoe is found not so much in our strengths or perfections, but in our weaknesses and the seemingly insignificant events of your day. For it is in the conflict, struggle, or mistake that His Glory–ZOE– is found if we choose to see it!
We can offer to God not only our talents but our weaknesses and know that this LIFE giving God will bring forth amazing beauty in His time. We need only to celebrate and enjoy!
Psalm 116: 8-9
For thou has delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. I will walk before Jehovah in the land of the living.
We all know that death, suffering, and failures are with us in this journey toward home, but God has delivered us from the grips of these things. We can walk in the land of the living here on earth!
It’s a mindset. It’s setting our minds on LIFE.
I was studying this prior to an amazing weekend in which a young lady embraced her God given talent and admitted her short-comings and trials. It was all wonderfully displayed in her one woman show, or capstone project for graduation at William and Mary College. She reminded all of us to find our passion–our ZOE–and LIVE! She was created to dance and sing –she was full of LIFE!
All through the weekend, I was reminded of this priceless gift God has given us through family, ministry, and friends. At a Christmas formal dinner with Woman of Worth Mentoring Ministries, God spoke to my soul–CELEBRATE ANNA! CELEBRATE LIFE!
My sweet Aunt’s birthday was celebrated by her singing to us, “We have this moment” by Bill Gaither. The song reminds us to celebrate life and treasure the moment you are in. She suffers from significant dementia and traumatic brain injury, but she could sing this song, smile, and laugh with us.
I pray you can experience ZOE–God’s creativeness and LIFE in all that you do, no matter where you are, or where you find yourself ……
CHOOSE TO CELEBRATE!
Find the JOY, the LIFE, the ZOE in the moments and twirl, dance, and sing!
I encourage you to visit my father’s website to reserve a book called The Man Called Jesus! You will find this LIFE in the loving arms of Jesus that is so wonderfully written about through this historical fiction.
