Parish bought tickets to the 15th Ringo Starr and His All Star Band months ago.

The event was postponed to September 20, 2022 due to band members’ testing positive for COVID-19. After a long wait, the time finally came for us to jam to our favorite songs. We decided to stay in Richmond near the event venue, Virginia Credit Union LIVE! which is the amphitheater at the Richmond Raceway. We had great seats! Some of our favorite songs were Rosanna, Free Ride, Frankenstein, Africa, Yellow Submarine, and many more. Some of the band all star members were Ringo Starr(The Beatles), Steve Lukather (Toto), Colin Hay (Men at Work), Warren Ham (Kansas), Hamish Stuart (Average White Band and he also played with Paul McCartney), Gregg Bissonette (drums, trumpet, backing vocals), and Edgar Winter (The Edgar Winter Group).
Greg Bissonette played a medley of famous drum riffs that was unique. We heard influences from Alex Van Halen, Phil Collins, and others.
We decided to try a unique stay near the venue! We stayed at Luxe Glamping Tent with A/C and Private Hot Tub.

The bed was comfy and the tent/yurt had many nice features such as AC and a fan, unique lighting, and an oasis of a backyard that includes a gazebo with refrigerator and coffee.
We had an outdoor shower and a key to use the side bathroom of the house. Julie was a great hostess and gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant called Dot’s Back Inn.
Who’s Dot anyway?
Dot started working in the family restaurant in the 1940’s and waited tables for nearly 50 years. Dot’s Back Inn is dedicated to her and every other server who has been the heart, soul, and success of the neighborhood restaurant.
We ended up eating at The Mill on MacArthur for dinner and lunch at Dot’s the next day due to the wait at Dot’s. We did not want to be late for the show!
The hot tub was lovely in the morning with coffee and my favorite meditation app, “Pray as you Go”. What a great message (Wednesday, September 21, 2022) of His love and mercy along with birds, butterflies, and the warm water soothing the skin. The speaker asked if we would be willing to see the unexpected? And, just at that moment, Parish pointed out a butterfly!

Here are a few words from Luke Parker’s song highlighted on the morning meditation:
Now I’ve found a love so pure
You’ve made me beautiful
You’ve made me yours
Now I’ve heard a voice so sweet
You call me beautiful
You call me yours
And all this time you’ve been at my door
Some will try to chase the world
Some will find they lose it all
But I will lose my life to find
To sweet Jesus I belong
It’s you I’m living for
Now I know you’re gently leading me
And you call me beautiful
You call me yours
Julie has a cute dog, a Papillon, who loved a quick snuggle on your lap if you welcomed her. What I enjoyed most was the sounds of nature and the light shining in the tent as the sun rose. If you are looking for something different, fun, and cozy, I would highly recommend staying at Julie’s glamping backyard!
