Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'”
Lesson 3 of Sharon Thomas’ study from Established Footsteps brought our family back on focus. Jesus is our every nourishment. Do you feast on Him? Do you engage in a bountiful feast daily or eat table scraps? His Word brings us health, joy, wisdom, direction, love, peace and restores us! Heals us!
I loved that she reminded us that we are currently in the wilderness like the Jewish people with Moses. We were enslaved to sin but Jesus came to redeem us. He is our manna–our bread–that we feast upon daily. We long await Heaven–our Promised Land. Until that time–FEAST on Jesus.
At the beach, I’m reading Breakfast on the Beach by Dr. Mark Jordan. Can you believe the first day and the first sentence is “The Savior is serving a breakfast banquet by the sea!” He quotes St. Francis of Sales-“It is right that you should begin again each day. There is no better way to finish the spiritual life than to be ever beginning.”
Jesus, our manna, feasting on Him each day!
Oh what a glorious day in which there will be no more night! We often look toward tomorrow to begin again and feast on Jesus. In heaven HIS Glory will shine so bright that there will be no sun, no moon, no day and no night. It will always be bright, perfect, glorious, and no suffering in which we pray that tomorrow will be better. It’s all better all the time! Healed. Completely healed! I awoke to this Holy Spirit revelation after a night of questioning some minor things but important to my heart as a parent. It was the backdrop to the glorious thought–No more of that! Hallelujah!
Oh Jesus–may we feast on You and throw away all the things that turn our focus away from Your nourishment.
Thank you Jesus for confirming Your work in our lives……
Jesus, until we see you face to face we will feast on the very Word of God and be restored and renewed! Jesus, you are all we need. You are our manna!
