The power of words!
For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. 35 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew
I’ve read many books on the power of words–secular and faith-based. For some reason, lately, God is re-introducing the need for me and my family to consider the words that come out of our mouth.
In Genesis, God spoke the world and it’s creations into existence. His three words–“It is finished!” from the cross brought redemption to all mankind. On resurrection Sunday, we proclaim, “He is risen!” announcing that death has no sting! We are eternally His!
Our family listened to a sermon called The Power of Words by Joyce Meyer on Good Friday, and placed at the cross our prayers to change our mouth! It all starts in the heart/mind. Our thoughts become words, our words become action……
We were able to hear three of the six points from the part I sermon
1. Stop complaining
2. Stop gossiping
“We should cover one another, not uncover each other!”
3. Mind your own business
What are the benefits? God’s Word proclaims that our prayers will be answered; we will have peace; and we will encourage others.
Today, on this resurrection Sunday in which we can worship His death and resurrection, let’s proclaim a new way, a new heart, and a new mouth!
We submit our thoughts and words to You, Jesus! Not only will we build each other up, we will proclaim Your love for us, and speak kindly to ourselves. We are loved! We are treasured! You, Jesus, have a great plan for our lives! We trust in YOU!
